My name is Judy Kyliuk and Elmer was my first cousin. My mom, Nettie and his mom Lena were sisters. My memories of Elmer was when we visited either in their home or at Aunty Olga’s farm. We would all pile in the station wagon, pick vegetables and flowers and of course swing on Aunty Olga’s fabulous swing. Elmer always had a smile on this face , and shared his opinion on lots of topics. He was such a good son to Aunty Lena and other family members always offering his support and kindness. He was definitely one of the good guys and will be missed. My sympathies to his brothers, Andy and Eugene. Rest in Peace, cousin.

I have so many wonderful memories of summers spent in Winnipeg visiting family. Visiting Baba and Gido always meant having gatherings with our extended family. Each visit was sure to involve get togethers with Auntie Lena, Andy, and Elmer. As the youngest in the Witiw clan, I always enjoyed seeing my second cousins and particularly remember the smiles and cheerfulness that always seemed to follow Elmer. RIP Elmer!

Extending our condolences, comfort and thoughts to Andy, Eugene and family on the passing of your brother Elmer. The Winnipeg area holds very fond treasured memories of warm summer childhood visits from Alberta to visit Baba and Djido Witiw on their farm. Of course such visits were always supplemented by richly abundant kindness, attention and fantastic hospitality from our Great Aunt Lena, Andy, Eugene ...and of course Elmer. At Aunt Lena's house or on the Witiw farm at large gatherings, Elmer (and Andy) were often tasked at Lena's request with the "challenge" of tag-team duty during such visits, entertaining us as younger children on the sidelines while the adults and parents of extended families came together to catch-up on news, visiting or engaging conversational Ukrainian practice, or off chasing errands. I will always remember Elmer as an ever willing, kind, quiet but consistently joyful, creative soul with a contagious smile always eager to converse and visit extended family including us busy young farts. Even at our age then it was clearly evident that Elmer was steadfastly committed to family, especially Aunt Lena's needs. Memories of him are dear, and we know he is now sitting around a large table of family visiting and laughing in that joyful, happier homeland past the horizon of our earthly sight. He has run the race, and has been welcomed home, that is for certain. James (Jim) T and Lorraine Witiw
