It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Gregorchuk on March 13, 2021.

Dad was predeceased by his parents, his sister and all brothers.  Left to mourn his passing is his wife, of 64 years, Helen, children Ken (Lorie), Dean (Melissa- deceased Feb. 19, 2021), Diane (Darrell), grandchildren Jennifer (Aaron), Kevin (Ginette), Crystal (Vince), Brad (Gabriela), Brenden (Auttumn), Tyler (Daniella)  and Casey.  He also had 8 great grandchildren (with one more due any day) and numerous extended family members and friends.  Dad’s time and story sharing will also be very much missed by all the children and grandchildren of the extended families of Lori and Melissa, who he treated as his own.

Dad was born in Arbaka, Manitoba on Oct. 1, 1933 and at the age of 17, he left the family farm in a pursuit to earn a living.  He always wanted to be a school teacher but life’s path took him into a different direction. His labour of love was plumbing.  He put himself through plumbing school (along with mom’s help) and that was what he did until the age of 83.  After the age of 83, he packed away his ice cream pail tool box but continued to share his knowledge to all the “do-it- yourselfers”, being sure to inspect what it was he told them.  (The Winnipeg Free Press did a feature article on him for his 80^th birthday.  Check out this link to read his beautiful story along with a video.) 

Dad and mom married on June 1, 1957 (almost 64 years) and have been inseparable since.  The love these two shared has been an inspiration to all who had the pleasure of having them in their lives.

There are so many words that can describe dad.  Patient, kind, caring, overly generous, humble, proud.  But in the eyes of this family, “Perfect” was what he was.  God blessed this earth with his presence for 87 years and we are beyond grateful.  He loved his family more than words could say.

On March 13, God called him back home and dad took a piece of all our hearts with him, leaving us with a void that will never be replaced. 

Thank you dad for all the never ending love you had for us.  We can hear you now, “Don’t thank me, thank The Lord”.

The family would also like to thank all the staff at the Grace hospital (3^rd floor) for their exceptional care and compassion to us and more importantly, to dad.  The restrictions upon us during this time have been challenging and they did the best under all circumstances.
