JUAN CANDIA

Obituary of JUAN ROMAN CANDIA

JUAN ROMAN CANDIA

November 4, 1972 to June 4, 2021

It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Juan Roman Candia on June 4, 2021 at the age of 48.

Juanito will be lovingly remembered by his children Solana and Dorian (Robin Candia), parents Juan and Patricia Candia, sister Marjori Palma (Alejandro), nephews Javier and Mateo, partner Rachiel Comia Saria and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Juanito was predeceased by his grandfathers Luis Alberto Rozas and Domingo Candia, grandmothers Nelly Surot and Blanca Nieves Vargas, and his loving Aunt Manon Cavicchioli who sadly passed away the same week.

Juanito was born in Santiago, Chile and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was seven years old.  Juanito was very adventurous and at a young age discovered he had a passion for cars and fishing.  Juanito graduated from Red River College as an Automotive Technician and enjoyed working on cars at Canadian Tire, but particularly enjoyed rebuilding cars - he was especially proud of a blue Barracuda that he worked tirelessly on to restore.

Juanito was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed being near and around nature; he enjoyed camping, hunting, but absolutely loved fishing with all his heart.  Juanito could be on the lake all day and if not fishing he would enjoy sitting around a warm fire with friends and family.  Juanito spent many summers working as a fishing guide at Eagles Nest Lodge where he made so many fond memories and friends.

Juanito had a boisterous and contagious laugh, he was always joking around, smiling, and easily making friends everywhere he went.  Juanito was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed and he was such a caring person with a huge heart.  In early 2020 Juanito took a very meaningful trip to Cuba to help guide and support persons with addictions and complex trauma through the Re-Act program, he wholeheartedly helped them in every way he could to make their lives a little easier.

The family would like to thank everyone who offered their condolences, stories, and shared precious photos.   Unfortunately due to current restrictions, a large formal service will not take place but rather a small private family gathering will be held.

In our hearts, Juanito will forever be remembered.
