Obituary of PEGGIE ROBINSON
PEGGIE ROBINSON
January 7, 1921 – June 28, 2021
Peggie Robinson passed peacefully on June 28, 2021 in Winnipeg, at the age of 100 years.
She has been reunited with her beloved husband Jim, as well as her mother Margaret, father Victor and her sister Daphne.
She will be dearly missed by her children Victor (Lorraine) and Joan (Fred); her grandchildren, Christine (Justin), Sarah (Arturo), Jessica, Wesley and Dean; and her great grandchildren Abigail, Georgia, William and Jordan-Lee.
Peggie was born in Worthing, Sussex, England on January 7, 1921. She joined the fire service during the war from 1940-1945, and it was there that she met Jim, who was a Canadian soldier. They married in 1946 and came to live in Winnipeg.
Her and Jim founded J.A. Robinson Pump Service Ltd. in 1958. She was an intelligent businesswoman and stayed involved in the company's operations well into her eighties.
Peggie always kept busy. She loved to read and always stayed up to date with the latest news. Her week wasn't complete without a visit to the casino, and she enjoyed playing Bingo with her grandchildren. There was also never a shortage of dish cloths, as she knitted a dozen daily.
Peggie had a heart of gold and was loved by many. Whether she was visiting friends, offering companionship at Deer Lodge or making her rounds at Robinson Pump Service, everyone loved when Peggie came to visit.
Nannie, you will forever be in our hearts. We will celebrate your life and toast with a glass of rose.
A special thanks to the staff at Meadowood Manor.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the charity of your choice.
A private service will be held on Wednesday, July 7 at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
