Obituary of LENA SEREACKI
Lena Sereacki (née Kowal)
1918 - 2021.
Died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Residence, Winnipeg on July 6, 2021. Her presence will be sorely missed. After moving from Oakbank in 1939 Lena lived and raised her family in Winnipeg. She was a loving mother to Lawrence (Elaine Molgat), grandmother to Karen, Gregory, Michel and Stéfan, and great grandmother to Xavier, Sidonie, Tassia and Paskal. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley and her daughter Elizabeth.
Throughout her life, Lena was an independent and resourceful person. She loved flowers and her garden, a passion she shared with Stanley. She regaled her children and grandchildren with her cooking; she was a superb seamstress, and the mittens knitted with love and care are still being passed down. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Residence for the care and attention they provided during Lena’s last years.
There will be a family funeral service at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, followed by burial at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation can do so in memoriam to Lena Sereacki at Holy Ghost Parish or to the Friends of St. Joseph’s Residence. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
