PAULA SUSMELJ

On Friday, July 2nd, 2021 our beloved mother, Paula ascended into heaven at the age of 91. 

Born in Krizna Gora, Slovenia, May 30, 1930, immigrated to Winnipeg in 1960.

She worked for the City of Winnipeg until retirement in 1991 then moved to Vancouver until 2020.

She leaves to mourn of her passing, one daughter, Fausta, two sons, Claudio and Ronald and one sister, Lojska in Slovenia.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Alojz.

Throughout her life, Paula was a hard worker and an independent person. She was a giving, loving and caring mother and your best friend. Her children were most important to her and demonstrated her love to each of us by her kind deeds and thoughtful gestures. Her faith was integral to her being and guided her in the most difficult times. She belonged to the Slovenian Catholic Women's League.

She loved dancing, travelling, entertaining, cooking, walking, knitting blankets for her sons and knitting slippers for herself and daughter. She was always invited and included to special occasions hosted by her children's friends. She was known as "sweet" Paula to many. Paula lived a good life, a full life.

We want to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital.

A private family service will be celebrated Friday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 95 MacDonald Avenue with Fr. Diosdado Parrenas officiating. 

Family and friends are welcome to attend the graveside service on Friday, July 16 at 12:15 p.m. at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.

We were blessed to have Mom as long as we did. We miss you and your love will carry us forward.
