Obituary of VALDOMIRA BOTELHO CAMPOS
VALDOMIRA BOTELHO CAMPOS
February 13th, 1944 – July 28th, 2021
It is with deep sadness and heartache that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Valdomira Campos. She was predeceased by her husband Antonio in April of this year. Left to cherish her memories are sons, Duarte (Maria), Antonio (Margaret), and Arthur (Leda); grandchildren Sabrina, Catherine, Julianna, Matthew, Lukas, and Christian. Mom is also survived by her sisters and brothers Genoveva, Fernanada, Augustinho, Venilde, Jose, Gilda, and Luisa, as well as her extended family in Manitoba, Ontario, Massachusetts, Florida, and the Azores. Mom was predeceased by her parents Gil and Mariana, and brother David.
Mom was born in Sao Miguel, Azores and in 1966, she married dad. Together in 1973, they both immigrated to Canada with their three young sons to start their new chapter for a better life. Even though mom was busy with three young sons, she still found time to work for Bee-Clean for over 30 years creating many fond memories and lasting friendships.
When mom did have spare time on her hands, she enjoyed knitting, tending to her flower garden, and her almost daily shopping trips. Mom also enjoyed baking, which she did until the final day we had with her. We will cherish in our hearts the New Years’ Day dinners mom hosted for many years with family and friends. Those who knew her will forever remember her laughter and humour.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to her close friend Teresa, and neighbours Odette and Lina for the kindness and friendship they showed mom over the years.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 13th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Hungarian Church with limited seating. Live streaming is available at https://www.facebook.com/pg/dads.pador/videos/
Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. with all welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
