The family announces the peaceful passing of their mother, grandmother and Amma, Eunice Cloutier on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Fred Douglas Lodge, Winnipeg.

Eunice was 92 years old. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Ronald Maurice Cloutier and by her daughter Dolores Grzelak.

Left to mourn her are her sons Craig (Myrna) of Winnipeg, Brad (Linda) of Salt Spring Island, Randy (Edith) of Winnipeg, Cordell (Maureen) of Vancouver, and son-in-law Elie Grzelak of Calgary. Amma’s grandchildren will miss their grandmother - Kyla, Kirsten (Michael), Patrick (Alexis), Cherie, Gloria, Candy, Arlyss, Dennis, Lindsay, Roderick (Christine) and Riel (Kim).

Her great-grandchildren carrying her into the future were welcomed by Eunice. Christopher, Brenna, Avery,   Heidi, Jasmine, Erik, Emily, Zacharie and Vivienne.

Eunice was born in Winnipegosis, Manitoba. Many of her early school years were spent in northern Manitoba. She told of visiting her grandmother, Jessie Shaw, in Mafeking, Manitoba. Her grandmother would be visiting friends with Eunice in tow when the noon lunch siren would blow. Grabbing Eunice’s hand, Jessie would dash home to get lunch on the table for her husband.

Eunice was also very proud of her Icelandic heritage. Her vinartarta was a family favourite.

Ronald was proud to say that his wife could make any house they lived in into a “home”. One of their favourite pastimes was going out to dance with friends at the Club Morroco and the Hotel Fort Garry.

Throughout her life, Eunice said the main enjoyment of her life was her family, who have already felt her loss.

A memorial service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Steet, Winnipeg on Friday, August 27th at 2:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Fred Douglas Foundation in her name.
