SHERRIE ANNE ROBBIN HURRIE

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sherrie on September 2, 2021 in Winnipeg at the age of 65.

Sherrie was born in Winnipeg on April 18, 1956 to Robert and Joan Parsons. She was raised in the West Kildonan area of the city where she attended Centennial School, Edmund Partridge School, and St John’s High School. Sherrie was passionate about photography and after High School worked at Winnipeg Photo. On October 13, 1979 she married Edward and in the following years they welcomed their two children, Laura and Mark, into the world.

Sherrie was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, DIY, cooking, baking, Christmas time, and singing to the oldies on the radio. She had a creative spirit, always trying new recipes or taking on various craft projects including making fairy houses, homemade wreaths, quilts, and teddy bears. Sherrie loved nature and worked hard on providing a beautiful garden environment for blue jays, robins, hummingbirds, and especially monarch butterflies.

Sherrie is predeceased by her mother Joan and father Robert.

Sherrie was quiet, kind, and devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband Edward, her children Laura (David) Glasgow, Mark Hurrie, her siblings Roberta (Ken) Boyak, Terry, and Douglas, uncle Jim (Lois) Spencer, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and her devoted cat McAllister.

In accordance with Sherrie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of CancerCare Manitoba for their kindness, care, and compassion.

Mom, you were the best. We are so proud of everything you have done and accomplished.
