Obituary of MURIEL HARDER
MURIEL RUTH HARDER
(Nee JONES)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ruth, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by the love of her family, Ruth passed away December 31, 2012 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 65.
Ruth was born on February 14, 1947, in Neepawa, MB, to Marion and William Jones. On February 20th, 1965, she married the love of her life and best friend Harry and started a family and life together in Winnipeg, MB. Ruth was employed as a cook for over 20 years at Rossmere Golf and Country Club. She especially loved the people she worked with and made many friends over the course of her time there. She loved the summer months and enjoyed spending time out at her trailer at the Oasis in the company of many family and friends. Ruth’s greatest joy in her life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She spent her life giving everything she had to her family and friends and never asked for anything in return. She will be remembered for her love of life, her sense of humour, and the joy she had helping others.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Marion and William, and her loving husband Harry in 2003. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter Sheila (David), her son Brad, her grandchildren, Melissa, Lisa, Briane, Cody, Madisyn and Lucas, her brother Vic (Marie) Jones, her two special nieces, Sue (Rick) and Lynn and her precious mother-in-law Mary Harder Reimer. She is also survived and loved by many extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service and a Celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. A private family interment will follow at a later date.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation
to the many doctors and nurses at CancerCare and HSC and to the many family and friends whose love and support we could have not done without. A special thanks to Donna Mardynalka for all her help taking Mom to appointments and being there for her when we weren’t able to.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to be made in Ruth’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
"The Ones we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear."
