On October 5, 2021, Anne Bates passed away peacefully at the age of 95 with her family by her side. We are now at peace knowing mom is now singing and dancing with her beloved son Kenneth.

Mom raised her family in Southampton, Ontario and eventually joined her youngest daughter in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she spent her time spoiling her granddaughters. Family meant everything to Mom; she was always the first to offer help. Anne was a hardworking woman who loved to play Kinsmen Bingo and do her crossword puzzles.

She was a loving mother of Barbara (Ronald) Maxwell, Sharon Bonwick, Michael Bates, Cindy (Troy) Hopgood, Cherished Grandmother /Nanny of Kimberley (Rob) Hales, Christopher Maxwell, Kenneth (Christina) Jackson, Conrad Bonwick, Desiree, Kayla, and Taylor (Owen) Hopgood.  Great Grandma of Michael, Matthew (Sarah), Corey (Samantha), and Sarah Hales, Logan and Lucas Maxwell, Chantel, Samantha, Kyla, Jessica and Dylan Jackson, Summer, Jordan and Logan Bonwick, Keyanna, Jayden and Kali Twoheart, Kolton, Kaesin, and Ava Hopgood.  Great Great Grandma of Violet, Issaiah, Sophia and Skyla Hales. She was predeceased by her eldest son Kenneth Bates, Husband Shirley Bates, son in laws Rodney Hopgood, Angus Bonwick and granddaughter McKenna.

A celebration of Anne’s life will take place on Sunday October 10, 2021 at 10:30am at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
