My deepest condolences to you Maria on the loss of your beloved husband. And also to Paula, David and their families. I have fond memories of when we were neighbors across the back lane. I remember his sense of humor and how he took great pride in maintaining both his yard and his home. But what was most important to him was his family; it was evident how proud he was of them. Cherish all the wonderful memories you have and I pray that they will help to ease your pain. May Eduardo rest in eternal peace
I worked with Eddie at CN for quite a few years and I will remember him not being afraid to try things that most people wouldn't. He operated a huge on-track crane which takes a lot practice and patience to learn for quite a few years until he was asked to try being a foreman. I was a young newbie when I started at CN on the evening shift where Eddie was the foreman who taught me various "tricks" to get the job done. He was a results driven guy who was well respected by all especially Garry Brodziak the yard manger at the time so much so that he offerd Eddie a huge undertaking of a lifetime. In 1986 Eddie was charged with the set-up and operation of a totally new venture in the yard, The Turnout Plant. He started with nothing but a vision and a vague plan and over the course of 9 months had it up and running to full production with a handfull of key people including myself. This endeavor was the biggest of his career and caused him lots of sleepless nights and even some health issues but he persevered gaining even more respect from his peers and superiors. Him and I didn't always see eye to eye but I looked up to Eddie as a mentor and friend. He will never be forgotton, goodbye my friend.
