Obituary of ANDREA RUSSO

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Andrea, beloved husband of Francesca, on November 10, 2021 at the age of 97 years.

He was predeceased by his parents Vincenzo and Caterina, four brothers Alfio (Carmela), Giuseppe (Tanina), Salvatore (Mimma), Giiovanni (Fina) and two sisters Giovannina (Alfio) and Pippa.

Andrea is survived by his wife Francesca, children Vincenzo (Marcella), Caterina (Rosario) and Angelo (Maria); 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Andrea was born in Catania, Sicily, Italy.  He married the love of his life Francesca Lanza on September 25, 1943.  After working with Canada Western Boots as the Lead Shoe Maker for many years, he retired at the age of 65 years.

His hobbies and interests were fishing, mushroom scavenging, wine making, gardening and sharing the word of God.

Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 19 in Oasis Church, 940 Elmhurst Road. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery.
