MARIA CONCEICAO SOUSA
1925-2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Remaining to cherish mom’s memory are her children, Manuel (Nancy), Maria, Dan, Ilda, Connie (Bala); sister, Urselina Raposo; grandchildren & great-grandchildren as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her husband Manuel; brothers, sister and her parents; brother-in-law and sister-in-laws; grandson Marcel and son-in-law Octavio.
Mom was born in Sao Miguel Azores, Portugal on March 10, 1925. In her earlier years she enjoyed cooking Sunday lunches for the whole family and baking Portugese Malasadas and Massa.
Thank you to all the homecare workers from WHRA and Paramed that provided care in her own home.
We’d like to express our own thanks to the firefighters and paramedics for their care and compassion.
We’d also like to thank all our relatives and friends who offered their support and prayers during this difficult time.
Prayers will be said at 6:00p.m on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street N., on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., with Interment at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue West.
In lieu of flowers, donations in mom’s memory may be made to Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation and the Arthritis Society.
