Obituary of SHERRIE ANNE HERRON

Sherrie Anne Herron

July, 6th, 1975 - February 28th, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister and auntie, Sherrie Anne Herron. Sherrie left us far too soon at the age of 46 on February 28, 2022 at St Boniface Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Sherrie was pre-deceased by her cherished Babcia, Maria Kisil, and loving grandparents Hugh and Laura Herron. She is survived by her mother Giena, and father Hugh (Laverne), siblings Tammy (Russell), Hugh (Tanis), Samantha (Damien), and Serina (Rob). Sherrie also leaves to mourn numerous nieces and nephews, Bailey, Devon, Emily, Brooke, Trent, Brendon, Ethan, Jamie, and Cassidy; as well, many aunts’ uncles and cousins.

 Sherrie was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She grew up in the north part of the city, where she graduated from West Kildonan Collegiate and went on to work for Zellers until they closed. Sherrie spent the later years of her life working in the service industry and most recently Robins and People Ready, where she was up at the crack of dawn, ready to start her day.

In her early years Sherrie loved walking to Kildonan Park Pool with her siblings. She enjoyed the great outdoors and looked forward to summer vacations spent with family at the lake, camping, swimming and fishing. Sherrie was always the first to jump in the lake, frolic in the waves, and dive right in, no matter how cold the water was. She was fearless when it came time to summertime fun. Sherrie’s love of lake life was no match for the absolute joy and pleasure that a bonfire brought her. Sherrie loved sitting around the campfire, stoking the flames, any time of day, with a beer in hand.

Sherrie loved being an auntie and was notorious for spoiling her nieces, nephews and the family fur babies. Sherrie didn’t always have much, but that didn’t stop her from sharing with those she loved. Sherrie will be fondly remembered for her heart of gold, her generous nature, her amazing memory for the names of actors, movies, music and artists, her great sense of humour and lastly, the many practical jokes and pranks she played on family. Sherrie’s kind, sweet and gentle soul will be deeply missed.

Finally we want to thank Dr. Mark Collister and the Palliative Care Team at St. Boniface Hospital who treated Sherrie with kindness compassion and care during her short time with them. We would also like to thank the palliative nurses and doctors who helped care for Sherrie while at home.

A celebration of Sherrie’s life will take place on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 1 - 3pm with close family and friends.
