Obituary of LOUISE EVELYN STUPAK
LOUISE EVELYN STUPAK
(Schmidt)
April 23 1933-April 11 2022
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother. Louise will be missed and lovingly remembered by her son Mark (Sheila) of Victoria BC, her daughter Wendy Wightman (Peter) and her grandchildren Brett, Nicole, Brooke Wightman and Olivia Stupak, her brother Wilfred Schmidt of Victoria BC, sister-in-law’s Eleanor Jaworski and Marion Paleshniuk (Ed) and her nieces and nephew.
Louise was predeceased by her husband Vern Stupak, parents Albert and Christina Schmidt, sisters Isabel Schmidt, Della Schmidt and Florence Zdan (Joe), and nephew Lorenz Schmidt.
Louise was born and raised in Glenella MB. Growing up she loved to skate and indulge in the endless supply of candy and chocolates from the family store. As a young woman, she moved to Montreal to live with her sister. Once she returned to Winnipeg, she worked for the Royal Bank and in 1959 she married Vern and soon after started their family. Louise was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to sew, bake, knit and spend time with her family. Louise had a gift of serving the best family meals followed by an amazing dessert. The grandchildren always knew that a special treat and a big hug would be waiting for them at Nanny’s house.
Louise was a spiritual person and was a life long member of the Lutheran Church. When she was able, she enjoyed worshipping and the fellowship at St. Luke’s Zion Lutheran Church.
A thank you to all of the special people who helped care for Louise during these trying times. We are forever grateful.
A private family interment will be held at a later date.
Flowers gratefully declined, if so desired donations can be made in Louise’s name to CancerCare Manitoba, Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
