Obituary of GEORGINA LOUISE RAYMOND

(nee Macfadden)

September 14, 1949 – April 22, 2022

Georgina Passed away quickly and peacefully in her sleep on April 22, 2022 at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit at the age of 72.

She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Marilyn.

Georgi is survived by her children Samantha, and Michael (Liza), and the loves of her life Katie, Caleb, Maxine and Marcela. She also leaves behind her brothers Lachie (Willene), and Doug (Vicky), and many nieces and nephews.

Georgi was born in Geraldton Ontario, was raised in Sudbury before coming to Winnipeg where she helped her mom raise her siblings. Georgi spent time travelling to different countries in her 20’s with her mom. She later settled down in Jasper, Alberta as an office manager and began her family. Eventually Georgi and the kids moved to Winnipeg where she became super mom to Samantha and Michael.

Georgi spent most of her working years in property management and fashion sales. Georgi had many hobbies and interests. Her earlier years had her playing baseball and curling. She had a love for camping, and enjoyed many years at Chestleys Resort. Georgi spent many years doing ceramics and even after the shops closed still met the ladies for coffee once a month.

Georgi’s pride and joy was her family. Georgi spent her life always putting everyone’s needs first, before her own. The love for her children and the bond she had with her grandchildren were the most important and most cherished in her life. We are all going to miss her very much.

We thank the St. Boniface Palliative Care for their services and Dr. Cameron Lowden for his years of excellent care of mom, always going above and beyond for her.

As per Georgi’s wishes, no funeral will take place and a private family burial will happen at a later date.
