Obituary of JOAN (JOANIE) EWASKO
(TYCHONICK)
October 15, 1945 – April 10, 2022
With her daughter by her side, it is with profound heartbreak and sadness that we announce the passing of Joan from this life into God's kingdom on April 10, 2022.
Joan will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ernie, of nearly 55 years, daughter Tannys, brother Roger (Joan), nephew Russ, in-laws, Barbara and Paul. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Irene Tychonick.
Joan lived her entire life in Transcona and was so proud to be a part of this small community. She worked for her dad at his store Peter's Food Market, Transcona News, and BACM Construction. After being a stay at home mom, she worked as a Lunch Supervisor/ Coordinator in the RETSD for over 20 years.
In her youth, she enjoyed her time at the family cottage at Otter Falls. Joan loved horses, dogs, children, classic cars, collecting pens, Elvis and country music. She also loved French fries, dainties and Red Rose tea. Joan had a deep passion for flowers and plants and found great peace and enjoyment filling her home and yard with an array of them.
Joan's family meant everything to her. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She is loved very much and will be missed dearly. There is a hole in our hearts now that will never be filled.
A private service was held.
As a lasting tribute to Joan donations may be made to the Joan Ewasko Memorial Fund at The Winnipeg Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
