Joyce Ewatski was a force to be reckoned with! She had a gentle, yet forceful way of getting her point across. That's how she roped me into teaching Catechism. She stopped me after Mass one Sunday to tell me that she thought I'd make a great Catechism teacher. I was stunned, as this wasn't an area that I thought I'd ever attempt. She said that because I was taught by the nuns at Holy Ghost School, I'd be a natural. Not sure if I agreed, yet, I couldn't say no to this lovely woman who did so much for our church. I can't help but smile when I think back to this scene. I know she would take full credit for the fact that to this day I'm still teaching Catechism through our Confirmation program.
Thanks for seeing something special in me Joyce! I dedicate my service to you! May you be wrapped in God's loving arms throughout eternity.

Rest In Peace Grandma. You were a light and special joy in our lives, I will never forget our family Christmas gatherings and caroling to the most favourite Christmas tunes. You were loved by so many, and your kindness and generosity to the community will never be forgotten and will continue on in your legacy. Love, Taylor

Mrs. Ewatski is an integral part of my childhood memories. I can't say more than the beautiful tribute from her family. The friendship she shared with my Grandma is something I always admired and she has a special place in my memories.

I am feeling very nostalgic on hearing of you mom’s death. Mrs. E or Boss Lady as we lovingly called her is part of so many of my childhood memories. Spring Teas, catechism, First Communion preparation (for both me and my eldest!), choir, Christmas caroling, fashion shows and so much more. Most importantly is the loving friend she was to my mom. Joyce was an example to me of faithful dedication, love of God and neighbors and just down right fun! I am grateful she was a part of my life. You are in my thoughts and prayers, may your precious memories and time bring you peace. Love Bernadette (Zak) Mandrick

Kate, Jason, Jessie and family. It was with sadness that we read of Joyce's passing. She was a wonderful and lovely lady. Fred and I have such fond memories of Joyce (and of course Frank). She had such "joie de vivre". We will be attending on Friday. May she rest in peace.
