CAROL WALL

Obituary of CAROL ORECIA WALL

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Caroline Orecia Wall (nee Romanetz), while surrounded by her family, on May 19, 2022.

Carol was the rock of our family. She leaves behind Ron, her husband of 53 years, her daughter Lesley, her son Jason, and her three grandchildren, Erin, Jacob, and Aiden. Her family was her everything.

Carol was predeceased by her father Michael, mother Nellie, brother Raymond, brother Robert (Bob), and nieces Karen, Carissa, and Stacey. Carol is lovingly remembered by her sisters, brothers and their families: Lorraine (Frank), Florence (Keith), Raymond (Bev), Vicki (John), Nettie (Garry), (Linda), Colleen (Larry), Marilyn (Garry), Garry, and Gayle (Dominic).

Carol was born on March 30, 1947 in Ethelbert, Manitoba on the family farm to Michael and Nellie Romanetz (nee Frykas), the fourth of twelve children.

A registered nurse by profession, Carol worked at the Winnipeg General Hospital from 1968 until health issues forced her to retire from the job she loved. Carol was well-respected and admired by staff and patients due to her strong work ethic and her empathetic nature. It was also through her job that she met her husband Ron, as his nurse - a love story admired by all who knew them. Ron and Carol were the definition of true love.

Carol was an avid nature lover and spent much of her time attending to her garden, flowers, and numerous house plants. She enjoyed bird watching and she and Ron spent many happy times at Oak Hammock Marsh.

For over 30 years, Carol volunteered her time to charities such as the Arthritis Society self-help group, Lupus Society, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Neighbourhood Watch and was a community advocate for the betterment of her neighbourhood.

Carol had numerous, diverse pastimes which included crocheting, quilting, sewing, puzzles, sudokus, picking blueberries, collecting rocks, camping, baking, photography, carpentry, reading, and writing poetry.

Carol was a very humble person who always maintained her dignity and values. She remained a true lady. She will forever be admired for her strength and kindness.

Funeral will be held at Cropo Funeral Home, 1442 Main Street, on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 10:00 am.
