Obituary of MARY KATALINE ROGOWSKI
Mary Rogowski
(nee Tokash)
Passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on June 3, 2022 at the age of 81 years.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Helen, husband Melvin, son Richard, brothers Ralph, Stan, Ed and Dan. Sisters, Rose and Emily, parents in law, Harry and Tillie. Daughter in law, Michele, brothers in law, Robert, Paul and Raymond, sisters in law, Shirley and Cynthia.
Mary is lovingly remembered by her daughter Barbara (Larry), grandson Brenden, granddaughter Bree-Ann, great grandchildren Carter, Maci, Lukas and Summer. She also leaves to mourn her passing sisters Ann (Al), Kathy (Lynn0 and Bernice and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in a large family in the Interlake the close relationship she shared with her siblings was life long. Marrying Melvin and raising her children in Winnipeg, the numerous visits to the farm were filled with laughter, songs, good company, delicious food and memories she cherished. Mom enjoyed traveling with dad on long haul trips throughout Canada and was proud to chat with travellers about Tiffany Marie, their much-loved wiener dog. Mom’s lifelong work was always caring for others at an early age; she helped raise her younger siblings, then after marrying Melvin, she devoted her life to her children, Barbie and Ricky. After the close and sudden passing of her husband Melvin and daughter in law Michele, Mom’s focus was directed to her grandchildren Brenden and Bree-Ann.
Although no one could ever replace the loss of their mother Michele, grandma gave them all her love, support and care she could. Her greatest joy was the arrival of her great grandchildren and their visits to baba’s provided respite from the pain and hardships she endured and were the moments she treasured the most. Her laugh was contagious, her self independence, strong and her will to live, miraculous.
The family thanks all the health care professionals who cared for her as her health declined over the years and to the Concordia Hospital staff for providing hope, comfort, compassion and dignity in her last days. Thank you to all who called and checked in on mom and prayed for her. Special thanks to Roberta who was like a daughter to her.
