Obituary of MARIA DO CARMO REIS FARIAS

It is with great sadness that the family of Maria Farias announce her passing on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the age of 89.

Maria was predeceased by her husband Eduardo and her grandson Jamie.

Maria will be lovingly remembered by her children Edward (Valerie), Maria (Manuel), Loudres, Alda, Antero (Lucy), Natalie; grandchildren Amanda, Paul, Brent, Michael, Alanna, Cory, Rhiannon and Kayla as well as her great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.

She was born in Santa Barbara (Capelas) in Sao Miguel, Azores and immigrated to Canada in 1971.

Donations in Maria’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Manitoba.

We would like to thank the staff at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg for all their care and support.

Viewing will be held at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 264 Donwood Drive, on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon, also at the church. Interment to follow at Green Acres Cemetery Highway Number 1 East at Navin Road.
