Obituary of JOÃO MONIZ PACHECO
January 1, 1935 – June 21, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and vavó, João Moniz Pacheco on June 21, 2022, at the age of 87.
Surrounded by his family, we held his hand until the Lord grabbed a hold of his other, to lead him into his next journey to plant his garden above.
Predeceased by his parents, Laurindo and Elvira, João will be missed forever by his loving wife of 50 years, Helena, sons John, Larry (Debbie), Marty and Chris (Rory). His daughters Vanessa (Travis), Nicole (Francis), and his grandchildren Kyle (Chantalle), Kendra, Zackary, Abigail, Daniella and Sofia.
João was born in São Miguel Acores, Portugal and moved to Winnipeg in 1970, in hopes of providing his family a better opportunity in life. He started his career at CN Rail where he remained up until his retirement after 32 years of service.
João was a straightforward man, never needing much for himself, to ensure his family had what they needed. He was a hard worker, selfless and funny. Respected by all that knew him, his gentle spirit and wonderful legacy will live on in his children and grandchildren.
