Obituary of ANNE THERESA SCHMIDT
ANNE THERESA SCHMIDT
MARCH 9, 1920 - JANUARY 30, 2013
Peacefully, on Wednesday, January 30th at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, Anne Schmidt, beloved partner of Al Ambach, passed away surrounded by her loving family at the age of 92.
She leaves to mourn her children, Marlene (Ross) of Calgary, Heather (Dan) of Quesnel, and Jim (Maggie) of Winnipeg; grandchildren Sheryl, Michael, Jodie, Dean, Carrie, Derek, Matthew and Bryn; 12 great-grandchildren and also Al's family: daughter Kris (Ross), children Cory and Tyler, and their families.
She was predeceased by her husband, Venz, brother Tony, and her parents Joseph and Theresa Johs.
Mom was born in Yugoslavia, and immigrated to Winnipeg with her parents at an early age. She lived most of her life in Winnipeg. Her family was her first priority. She enjoyed her trips to Florida, New York, Alberta and B. C., and the time she and Al spent at Winnipeg Beach. She was a lifelong member of the St. Joseph's Men's Sick Benefit Club and enjoyed bowling and bingo well into her eighties.
A special thanks to the care team and staff at The Convalescent Home.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
