ILIJA ZIRDUM

May 4, 1937-July 20, 2022

Ilija Zirdum passed away peacefully, with family by his side on July 20, 2022 at the Grace Hospital, at the age of 85 years.

Ilija is lovingly remembered by his wife Linda as well as his children Anto and Wilfred. He also leaves behind his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Ilija was born in Bosnia and moved to Canada in 1967, where he met his wife, of over 45 years, and raised his family. He started an auto repair shop, Zirdum Auto Repair and Servicing. This marks the 50^th year of being in business.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 6:00pm with Prayer Vigil to follow at 7:00pm at St. Nicholas Tavelich Croatian Catholic Church, 2688 Main Street, Winnipeg.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 10:00am also at St. Nicholas Tavelich Croatian Catholic Church, 2688 Main Street, Winnipeg, with the Reverend Father Peter Nemcek presiding. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue.
