Always glad to see any family member , no matter where we met. Quieter and thoughtful. But always willing to lend a helping hand. Remember sending him perfumed soaked letters when he worked as a conservation officer. Had a good laugh because it drove the other officers crazy. Always a good man, loved his boys and family. Miss you Jimmy.

My deepest condolences to Jim’s family. I met Jim in the summer of 1973 at Wilderness Corps. Toward the end of that summer I was assigned to his and Dave’s canoe for a 10-day trip/slog through some of the most beautiful and challenging parts of the Nopaming wilderness. We were a three person unit sharing everything and I was the weakest link. But Jim’s gentlemanly good nature and patience made the difficult times easier and fun for me. Jim also has a tiny place in the ‘74 Gordon Bell yearbook as part of a crowd shot sitting beside me at the high school football game final. In the span of a lifetime, our friendship was brief, but these memories that Jim was a part of were special to me. I wish his family all the best.

Wow, 1973 Wilderness Corps. trip was life changing for Jim.....at least it felt that as his younger brother. Slightly introverted, clean cut and reasonable health nut, he came back that summer with long hair, scruffy beard and smoking. Lol he came back absolutely excited about that trip. So happy you sent this message. Jim I am sure remembers you fondly. If you have any pics with Jim could you email me at dontraceygrant@icloud.com? Again, thank you so much! Don
