40 or so years ago Marianne and I exchanged readings in her office at the college.. Hers to me was a tarot reading that I remember well. I also have some foggy memories of bring sent out to her yard to pull up dandilions using a fork to be sure and get all the roots. She was a warm light in the world and her absence from it leaves it just a bit darker and colder. May she be at peace.

I knew her briefly 40 years ago. My two fondest memories were an afternoon in her office exchanging readings and pulling dandilions in her yard. Join in honoring their life - plant a memorial tree

I met Marianne at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg around the late 1990's. We bonded immediately and spent many
hours together; laughing, sharing, commiserating with each other. Our conversations were wide ranging; spirituality, politics, current events, our early cultural upbringings, etc. She brought a deep awareness to me of the many issues still faced by women worldwide. I brought her with me when visiting my family. She became an extra sister to some of my siblings. She had this knack of being immediately comfortable with strangers(who usually did not remain strangers!).
Goodbye Marianne. I will never forget you. You were an incredible human being.
with much love and affection Janet Toews
