Obituary of GERRY PORTH
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 60 years.
He was predeceased by his father Jack Porth, mother Evelyn Porth, brothers Jackie, Dale and Dennis.
Gerry is survived by his daughter Geri and grandchildren Patience, Precious, and Shawnivan.
He is survived by his sisters Linda, Carole (Leonard), Lois (Merv) and Lorraine (Johnnie) brothers Conrad (Denise), Bobby, Larry (Tammy) and Harvey (Debbie)
He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Gerry grew up and went to school in Riverton where he made many lifelong friends.
He was a proud Uncle of many nieces and nephews, he loved every one of them. He was a great babysitter. His nieces and nephews should all consider themselves honorary pall bearers.
Gerry enjoyed spending time with family and friends, he loved playing pool, cards, and even Bingo.
He worked for years as a warehouse worker for the North West Company, as well as other jobs in construction and landscaping, but his favourite job was working as a Butler. He was always willing to give a hand whenever family and friends needed help.
For the last years of his life he lived in a 55-Plus high rise apartment in East Kildonan where he made many new friends. Being one of the younger residents he often helped the seniors with their shopping and errands.
The family wishes to thank the First Responders and the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness and compassion.
Funeral Service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. on Sunday, September 18th at 1:00 pm. Cremation has taken place, internment at a later date.
