Obituary of GLEN NORMAN ZIPRICK

August 2, 1955 - September 10, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Glen after a sixteen-month battle with cancer. He was determined to beat it and after his initial diagnosis and treatment last May 2021, he was recovering and returning to his favorite activities. He was determined to golf on his birthday last year, and we did just that. Nine holes with two great friends. He saw that as his "return to normal" day and it was our favorite memory during the following eleven months.

Glen was predeceased by his father Norman Ziprick in April 2022. He will be forever loved and missed by his wife Lori (Schettler), mother Noreen Ziprick, siblings Marilyn, Dennis (Patti) of Brandon, and Carol (Brook) of Whitehorse, Yukon. Also left to mourn are his in-laws Ron and Joan Schettler, Jodi and Tim Guenther, Marnie and Rick Dombrowski and Gary and Renee Schettler, nieces and nephews Brett, Amy, Kirsty, Sarah, Jaedyn, Ryan, Nolan and Jake.

Glen loved life, and he also loved his profession as a Financial Advisor. He enjoyed talking to people and he always had time for a conversation. His life long passion for the game of tennis was known by all who knew him, and later in life he took up the game of golf, determined to learn how to play well enough to enjoy it. He was a long-standing member of Kildonan Tennis Club and a member of the Executive Committee of Tennis Manitoba. 

Anyone who knew Glen knew he loved to joke and tease, he loved a good debate, he had nicknames for almost every person he knew, and was one of the most positive thinking people we've ever known. He fought hard through this battle and his family and friends admired his strength. Rest easy, Zippy... we'll miss you.

Cremation has taken place and as per Glen's wishes a private family/friends Celebration of Life will be held. We know Glen had friends far and wide, so to all of you, the next time you tee up on the first hole or grab your tennis racket for a game, do it in Glen's honor. He would love that.
