Mike was born and grew up in Digby, Nova Scotia until 1971 when the family moved to Winnipeg and settled in Transcona. These annual fishing trips created many stories of “how the big one got away”, each year the big one got bigger. Mike was part of a fishing club and enjoyed going on fly-in fishing trips with his friend Alfred.
Mike loved to laugh and joke with his family and friends, he was always saying “and we laughed, and we laughed, and we laughed”, and boy did the nieces and nephews love this. Mike enjoyed the many family gatherings either at his parent’s place or the cottage etc., these were always looked forward to by all.
Mike was an avid history buff and joined the St. Boniface Historical Society, creating the Carriere family tree. He spent many hours researching and sharing this with the family.
