Obituary of ANGELINA CERULLO
Angelina Cerullo
Passed away peacefully on October 25th, at St. Norbert Personal Care Home, at the age of 91 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Donato Cerullo, baby Antonio, her father Giuseppe Santarsieri, her mother Maddalena Gioiosa, and her sister Donata.
Angelina is survived by her daughter Lucia (Raniero), her son Antonio (Tamara), and her six grandchildren Roberto (Cassandra), Daniele (Erin), Adriano (Andrea), Matteo, Cristiano, Alessandro, and her great granddaughter Mia.
She also leaves behind her sisters Theresa and Maria, brothers Michele, Antonio, and Donato, and her numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Angelina was born on July 6th, 1931, in Ripacandida, Italy. From an early age it was clear she was destined to care for people. She would feed and clothes all those around her. Everything was better when she was around. Angelina developed and perfected many life skills at an early age on the farm. Seamstress, chef, doctor, animal whisperer, councilor, banker. She was well respected and was never shy to tell it like it was. It was also in Ripacandida where she met the love of her life Donato, whom she would later marry in 1959, and start a family.
After having their first child Lucia, they moved from Ripacandida to Cunardo, Italy. During this time, they suffered the loss of their second child, baby Antonio. Eventually, they had their third and last child Antonio in Varese, Italy. With the family complete, they would move to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1976.
Angelina made a happy home everywhere she lived. Good times or bad, her family was always taken care of. She brought her love of Italy to Winnipeg. Her yard was always full of beautiful flowers. Her garden was always full of produce. Her kitchen was always full of delicious food. Her heart was always full of love.
Angelina was completely devoted to her family. She was happiest when she was with her family. She was always in toe with her husband, completing projects, and supporting her children in their lives, ensuring they were happy and successful. One of her most favorite places to be, was on the floor, playing with her grandchildren. Their memories of Nonna are full of pasta, ice cream, and laughter. She was humble and generous. She left everyone she touched with a smile. Everything was better when she was around.
We miss you. We love you. Rest in Peace.
The family especially thanks the staff at St. Norbert Personal Care Home for making Angelina comfortable in the last days of her life. We would like to thank everyone who gave of themselves to care for Angelina.
