Obituary of BARBARA ELIZABETH STUPAK
BARBARA ELIZABETH STUPAK
May 8, 1949 – November 9, 20222
It is with great sadness to announce the peaceful passing of Barbara on Wednesday, Nov 9, 2022 in the SICU, Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg.
Barbara was born on Mother’s Day, May 8, 1949 at Concordia Hospital, Winnipeg.
She was predeceased by her mother and father: Olga and Joseph Stupak, and brother Leonard.
She attended Hugh John McDonald school and Tech Voc high school to grade 12. While at school she had a part time job at Misericordia General Hospital.
Her first employment was for a short time in the office at Eaton’s. She then was successful in obtaining employment with Agriculture Canada as secretary in the Soil Survey Department, located on the University of Manitoba campus, where she remained until retirement in 2005.
Barbara loved travelling including two tours of Europe, also South America, Mexico and Texas. She had a great love for the Rocky Mountains which we visited regularly, and also the east coast and southern Ontario in our motor home.
She loved dogs, German Shepherds when living at home, and then Golden Retrievers and Nicky our current Border Collie mix.
Her main hobbies were quilting, computers and photography.
Barbara was a kind and loving person with a good sense of humor, and will be greatly missed.
The family is together again. Fly with the angels Barbara. REST IN PEACE.
I would like to thank Neurosurgeon - Dr Silvaggio and all the doctors and nurses in the SICU at Health Sciences Centre for the excellent care given to Barbara during her stay.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barbara’s name to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 1:00pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg followed by Interment at Holy Ghost Cemetery, 4387 Main Street, West St.Paul.
