Obituary of MARY SKRYPETZ
MARY SKRYPETZ
Mary Skrypetz peacefully passed away on November 17, 2022 at Poseidon Care Centre, at the age of 96 years.
She was predeceased by her parents Stanislaw and Anna Kowalski, husband John, two sisters Katarzyna Kowalska and Anna Stronski, and brother Antoni Kowalski.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Stan (Cheryl) and Lawrence (Donna). Three granddaughters, Alison (Brent), Emily (Alex) and Laurie. Two great-grandsons, Seth and Max.
Mom was born on August 24, 1926 and grew up in Zaleska Wola, Poland. In 1960 mom moved to Manitoba, Canada where she met and married John Skrypetz and settled down on a farm in Libau. Mom was very fond of Poland, often remembering the nicer weather and the apples that grew there. Having lived through WW2 and post war Poland, left mom with many sad memories. Mom was very proud of her farm life, she worked hard and enjoyed her large garden, milking cows, making cottage cheese and perogies. A milestone for mom was when she obtained her Canadian citizenship in 1979. In her later years mom would recall fond memories of her nieces, nephews and extended family. The highlight of her life were her granddaughters and great-grandchildren, she loved to be called grandma or Baba\
We thank everyone at Poseidon Care for the kindness and care given to mom.
Funeral service and internment of ashes will take place in Libau, MB in the spring.
