Stella Rose Wyspianski
(nee Radomski)
October 2, 1923 - December 18, 2022
The family of Stella Wyspianski is saddened to announce her peaceful passing on December 18, 2022 in Winnipeg at the age of 99 years old.
Stella will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Pat (Bob) Chorney, Carol (Gary) Swyston and Marian Alexander. She will also be sadly missed by her seven grandchildren: Janice (Andrew), Mike (Brenda), Tammy, Kris-Ann (James), Amber (Trevor), Dallas (Cheryl) and Dustin (Nicole). She leaves behind twelve great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law Victor and Lloyd (Betty) Wyspianski and many nieces and nephews.
Stella was predeceased by her loving husband John; her parents John and Tekla (Tilly) Radomski and her siblings Joe Radomski, Anne Sulyma, Ben Radomski and Sonia Leui.
Stella was born in Poland, October 2, 1923. The family immigrated to Canada settling in the Foley, Manitoba area when she was just 6 years old. After finishing her education, she worked at many jobs in Winnipeg and Toronto – never afraid of hard work.
In August of 1946 Stella married the love of her life, John Wyspianski when he returned from war. They raised their three daughters, instilling in them a hard work ethic and good values. During their 53 years of marriage, they moved many times making friends and good time memories in St. James, Lockport and Winnipeg. She loved cooking and gardening and excelled at both. After her husband, John passed away, she lived independently for many years and then moved to a seniors apartment. She enjoyed many social activities and appreciated new friends.
A special thank you to the Executive and all the staff at Thorvaldson Care Center, where Mom spent her last few months. She was treated with genuine care, respect and kindness. A thank you to the compassionate staff at the Grace Hospital, especially Tracy, who cared for Mom in her final hours.
A funeral service in Mom’s honor will be held on December 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
A private family graveside interment will take place in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church Cemetery in Selkirk, Manitoba as per Mom’s wishes.
