Obituary of WAYNE KENNETH PESTUN
Wayne Kenneth Pestun
It is with sadness that we share the passing of Wayne Pestun on Friday, January 6th, 2023.
Wayne grew up in East Kildonan, actively involved in various sports. Throughout his life, he was an enthusiastic Jets and Bombers fan. He worked as an appraiser, obtained his pilot's licence and acquired his float plane designation. His dedicated career spanned 41 years with the Government of Manitoba as a CPA, primarily as Director with the Department of Families. In addition to being an Accountant, Wayne was a self-taught carpenter, plumber and landscaper, building his own cottage and boathouse at Beresford Lake. Days at the lake were filled with fishing, boating and BBQing. He shared the fruits of his labour with friends and family to enjoy.
He married the love of his life; Victoria and they shared 27 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they enjoyed new adventures exploring the world through travel and socializing with friends and family. Wayne had a zest for life, a kind and gentle spirit, a strong sense of responsibility, a keen intelligence and a witty sense of humour.
He will be remembered by his wife Victoria, family and friends. Wayne lived life to the fullest and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Wayne proudly celebrated his Ukrainian heritage. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal through Canada-Ukraine Foundation at www.cufoundation.ca
