GODFREY FLEURY
August 12, 1941 – February 23, 2023
Godfrey passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 23, 2023, at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 81. He was born on August 12, 1941 in Lonely Lake, Manitoba.
He is predeceased by his parents Mildred and Henry George Fleury, son Garth Fleury, sisters Marilyn Sewap and Diane Govereau, brothers Melvin Fleury, Henry Jr. Fleury (Buddy), and Carl Fleury, stepchildren Doug Hastings and Karen Hastings.
Left to mourn Godfrey’s passing is his spouse Gail Hastings, sons Greg (Julie) and Grant (Celia), sister Sharon, Dolly, Janice, Rosie (Darrel) and Cindy (Rod), brothers Johnny (Deloris), Kelson, and Randy (Joan), stepchildren Brian Hastings, Tom Hastings, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the sixth-floor staff at St. Boniface hospital. Indigenous Services at both Seven Oaks Hospital and St. Boniface for all the assistance with accommodating the family through this difficult time.
A service will be held on March 11, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg MB., with visitation starting at 12:00 PM.
There will be a potluck luncheon at The Metis Club, 406 McGregor Street following the service. Please let the family know if anyone will be dropping off any dishes. Drop off time is after 11:00 am.
Godfrey’s ashes will be buried alongside his son Garth at a family gathering on Father’s Day June 17th 2023, in Crane River, MB.
