Obituary of MARON FIDKALO
MARON PAUL FIDKALO
It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of our dear father and grandfather Maron, on February 16, 2013.
Maron was born in Winnipeg on February 18, 1924. He is pre-deceased by his cherished wife Alice in October 2010 after 62 years of marriage. Maron was in his twenty-ninth year of retirement. He worked at CPR for 42 years as a car man. Maron still enjoyed taking his sister Mary for rides to the cemetery. He was a kind, generous man, who devoted his life to taking care of his family. He was never -not by his beloved Alice’s side during her last 5 years. His greatest joy in life, were his grandchildren Brian, Adam and Lisa.
Maron leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Debi and son in law Jeff Hunter, precious grandchildren, Brian, Adam and Lisa, his sister Mary Fredrick, nephews Gordie, Lennie, Ron, Terry, Wayne and nieces Elaine and Dale and numerous close friends.
We would like to thank the paramedics, firemen and police officers who attended. And a special thank you to Joel Garside. They were so professional and provided a very dignified end to a full life. Our sincere thanks to Fr. Bohdan Lukie who arrived at a moments notice to provide final prayers.
Prayers will be sung at 8 p.m. Friday, February 22 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Funeral service will be on Saturday, February 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Avenue. Interment at Glen Eden Cemetery.
