Obituary of ELSIE MAY HAMILTON
ELSIE MAY HAMILTON
With deep sorrow and endless love we mourn the loss of our beloved mom, who passed away February 25, 2023 at the age of 88.
Left to cherish her forever are her daughters, Rose (Garry), Cindy (Rob), Janice, Kim (Michael) and Charlene (Jason); her grandchildren, Nicholas, Katelyn (Josh), Travis (Rachel), Kyle (Heather), Ryan, Ben and Elise; her great-grandchildren, Michaela, Damien, Dominic, Deevon, Dayton, Nickolas, Lilly-Ann, Swayze, Jameson and Bennett; her sister Evelyn and brothers Thomas (Eileen), Gordon (Marilyn) and Mel (Angele).
Elsie was born in Winnipeg on August 9, 1934 to Arthur and Ivy Bryant. She and her 8 siblings grew up on Flora and Polson Ave, surrounded by love and activity.
Mom started her working career at Great West Life as a young adult, before moving on to Aikens, MacAulay & Thorvaldson Law firm as a legal secretary. She met her “lifelong love” Ron in her teens, whom she married in 1953. They cherished 55 years of life together, during which time they raised 5 girls in a chaotic and loving home on Inkster Blvd.
Elsie was a cherished and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunty and friend who was loved deeply. She was a beautiful soul, who left an immeasurable impression on everyone she met. Elsie was simply genuine, forgiving, full of joy and light and she spread all she had to those around her. Mom had deep faith in her Lord, which carried her through many challenges.
Mom Loved: Saturday coffee club laughing & visiting with family, greetings & goodbyes with hugs & kisses, gatherings with loved ones, holding adored grandchildren & great-grandchildren in her arms, puzzles, game shows, oatmeal crisp, America’s Got Talent, driving through Kildonan Park reminiscing & enjoying the flowerbeds, any televised sport (especially curling!), toasted tomato sandwiches and her cozy apartment.
Elsie was predeceased by her husband Ron; parents Arthur and Ivy Bryant; sisters Lillian and Shirley and brothers Art and Ron.
A Funeral Service will be held at Cross Church, 1787 Logan Ave. on Monday, March 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., presided by Pastor Alan Duncalfe.
As was her nature, mom supported many charitable organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
