GILBERTO FERREIRA DA SILVA

With broken hearts and sadness our family announces the passing of Gilberto Ferreira Da Silva at the age of 90 years old. With his family by his side Gilberto took his last breath with prayer on Wednesday March 8th, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
Gilberto was predeceased by his wife Silvana, his Mother; Otilia Benevides, Father; Joao Ferreira Da Silva, Brother; Leonilde Da Silva (wife Fernanda), Sisters; Isabel Marques (husband Carlos) and Fernanda Almeida (husband Jose).
He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his brother Jose F. Da Silva (Wife Helena). Son; Joao Da Silva (wife Noemia), daughters; Otilia Medeiros (husband Jose), Idalina Giesbrecht (husband Fred). Grandchildren; Joey Medeiros, Susie McMurtry (Husband Scott), Steven Medeiros, Melissa Laba (husband Rockie), Briana Da Silva, Johnny Da Silva, Matthew Giesbrecht and Nicolas Giesbrecht; Great-Grand Children Miguel, Evan and Emily, Kaydan and Arabella.
Gilberto was showing signs of dementia in his late 60's but fully diagnosed at the age of 70. With the love and guidance of his whole family Gilberto was always reminded who everyone was by showing pictures and sharing stories. He always knew he was loved by all of us. It was not until this last year that dementia took over his mind completely and slowly forgetting each one of us, yet showed comfort in seeing his children.
God saw how tired you were, God knew the pain you were in. God took you in his loving arms and you faced the pain with courage and strength till the very end. We know when God freed you from your body and gave you rest and peace your memories came flooding back. As God calls on us one by one we will all be reunited once again.
Always in our hearts, rest peacefully papa, Vavo, Avozinho

Grieving your loved one while they are here
Only to grieve them again when they are gone"
