Obituary of BARBARA KLARA SOPHIE KOSHELUK
BARBARA KLARA SOPHIE KOSHELUK
Barbara Klara Sophie Kosheluk, 73, passed away peacefully at Bethesda Hospital with her family by her side on April 6, 2023, after a short battle with brain cancer.
She was predeceased by her parents, Erwin and Luise Borcheld.
Barbara is survived by her husband Douglas and children, Joanne (Chris) and Carolyn (Bruce), grandchildren Veronica, Seth, Lily and Sophie. She also leaves her brother Bernie Borcheld (Debbie), sister Annette Pratt (Roger), niece Alyssa Pratt (Kevin), nephew Reiss Pratt.
Barbara was born in Detmold, Germany and at age 7 moved to Canada with her parents and brother. She graduated high school at Daniel MacIntyre Collegiate in 1968. Barb and Doug along with business partners Don and Helen Richmond, ran a print shop in Dawson Creek, B.C. in the 1970s. She worked with lawyer Jack Walker after returning to Winnipeg in the 1980s and she retired from her accounting position with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (C.O.T.M.) in 2011. In retirement, she was happy to escape Manitoba winters by travelling to Florida with Doug. She loved the outdoors, fishing, boating, hiking, camping, quadding, and berry and mushroom picking. When she moved to Paradise Village retirement community, she discovered her talent for line dancing and loved to show beginners the right steps. She also enjoyed crafting, cooking, sewing, knitting and crocheting. The most important thing in Barb’s life was family and in her final days insisted that family traditions continue.
