GERALD SAMUEL LACHO
February 2, 1950 – April 22, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald (Gerry) Lacho on April 22, 2023. He passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital.
Gerry will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Christine Lacho (Stephen) and Sandra Katchnoski (Tyler) as well as his brother Dennis Lacho (Theresa), sister-in-law Donna Wills, brother-in-law David Wills (Tina) along with several nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Lacho, in October 2022. He was also predeceased by his parents Mary and Sam Lacho.
Gerry was born and raised in Winnipeg Manitoba. He worked for 36 years for Fisheries and Oceans Canada before retiring in 2015.
Gerry was a friendly, outgoing, caring person. He had a great love for the outdoors, including fishing, hunting, shooting, and gardening. He loved spending time at the family cottage. In recent years he provided loving care for Margaret as she struggled with Alzheimer’s. He will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their excellent care of Gerry.
A private memorial service will be held for Gerry.
