Special thanks to Simkin Centre for the care he received over the last year and Grace Hospital for the care in his final days. With heartfelt gratitude we acknowledge Dr. J.B. Sharkey for his many years of care and compassion.

Danny was born in Holdfast, Saskatchewan on March 14, 1939 to Michael and Rosa Burkart. He was the youngest of 11 children; having 5 brothers and 5 sisters. His early life was spent in a small farming community where he attended school, learned the skills of farming and participated in many sports; baseball being his favourite.

In 1957 Danny moved to Regina where he pursued a career in sales. Danny was a natural salesman.

In 1963 Danny married Lillian. He adored Lillian and they shared a love like no other. Their love was rooted in faith and family. Daniel was dedicated to his 3 children and 7 grandchildren. He was a man of great integrity and always there when you needed him.

In 1972 he accepted a new challenge in the area of management. This role would see him take his family across the 3 Prairie Provinces, eventually settling in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Danny was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 30 years. Through this he became involved in the Canadian Blood Services and AGAPE Table, in which he took great pride.

Danny loved to golf and was an avid hockey fanatic! He loved to socialize, listen to music and was quite the artist. As you know, he had the best sense of humour and always had a great joke to tell.

Our hearts our broken, but yours is at peace. We love you beyond measure. We will miss everything about you but will cherish our memories forever.
