Obituary of Jeanette Elizabeth Terlecki
Jeanette Elizabeth Terlecki
(nee Settee)
April 2, 1954 – June 1, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeanette Terlecki (nee Settee) on Thursday, June 1, 2023 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Jeanette leaves to mourn her beloved sister Cathy Johnstone, brother Jim and her baby brother Charlie (Helen). She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and numerous friends and relatives to cherish her memory.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Allan Terlecki (February 2022), Parents Lawrence Settee (March 2006) and Dorothy Settee (June 2004), sister Leona (February 2016), brother Danny (June 2022), nephew Lee (February 2022) and niece Ashley (December 2003).
Jeanette was a sweet and generous person. She had a very big heart. In her short time at Beacon Hill Lodge, she made so many friends and her friends loved her. She used to make them laugh. Her friends told Cathy that they will really miss Jeanette.
Jeanette loved watching movies and listening to music. She really enjoyed singing and in her late teens, she sang with her sisters and her dad’s accompaniment at various church services throughout Manitoba.
Jeanette met the love of her life, Allan at work. Through their work, they used to have dances on Saturday night and they went together. They had many friends that enjoyed their company. Jeanette was so in love with Allan and she brought him to meet the family. Jeanette and Allan got married in July of 2007 at St. Matthews Anglican Church with family and friends celebrating with them. They danced to, “I Just Want to Dance with You” for their wedding song. It was a special song for both of them.
When Allan passed away in February 2022, it was a heartbreaking time for Jeanette. She missed him so much. She loved talking on the phone and this brough peace to her.
Jeanette was the oldest grandchild of late Michael and Janet Crate of Fisher River. She lived the first two years of her life at Matheson Island with her Mum and Dad. They moved to Winnipeg so that her dad could work in the city. She lived in Winnipeg for most of her life except for a couple stints in Ontario and BC.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
Thanks everyone for your support especially to St. Matthews Anglican Church for their kindness and tenderness during this time of grief.
