MARION LEHNER

Obituary of MARION LEHNER

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marion Lehner on July 5, 2023. Marion passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at Grace Hospital at the age of 88 years.

Marion will be remembered by her husband of 63 years, Joe, sons, Richard (Anh), Ken (Robin), and daughter Karen (Kurt). She will also be remembered by her eight grandchildren, Samuel, Melissa, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Benjamin, Abigail, Andrew and Colin, her sister-in-law Anna Marie Lylyk and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her dad Nicholas, mom Johanna, brother Edward and son Michael.

Marion was born June 19, 1935 in the North End of Winnipeg. She attended St. Johns and Tec Voc schools and upon graduation started working at TD Bank.

In 1958 she met Joe and the two were married a year later. Over the years Marion helped Joe start and run two successful businesses while raising four kids. The family spent summers at their cottage on Lake Winnipeg and hosted many dinners and parties both at the cottage and their home with family and friends. Marion worked very hard to keep traditions alive and there were always large family gatherings at home for the holidays. Marion danced whenever possible (especially to a polka), enjoyed going to the casino, and especially liked to travel.

Marion will be fondly remembered and sadly missed for her kindness, generosity and fun-loving nature. We can say our mom lived a full and happy life.

Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Grace Hospital especially Dr. George and Dr. Joshua. We'd also like to thank her caregivers over the years including Violetta, Matilde Cabang and especially Gilberta Viagedor.
