Obituary of ROBERT EUGENE DUGAS
"Bob" Robert Eugene Dugas
November 1, 1959 - July 9, 2023
Our husband, father, uncle, cousin, and friend to too many to mention, Bob died unexpectedly at home in his sleep and will be missed immensely.
He was predeceased by his parents Joan and Herbert, brothers Donald and Ronald, father-in-law Sidney and sister-in-law Virginia.
He is survived by his wife Annette, daughters Lauren (David), Leslie (Kurt), (verbally) adopted daughters Kim (J.P., children Kaycee, Taylor, Sammy, Reid, Rori) Elsie (Glen, child Xavier.) brother Gerry (Barb) and sister Maureen. Special aunt Deloris, nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and numerous friends.
Bob grew up and attended school in Welland, Ontario. He was a jack of all trades but master of none, if Bob did not know how to solve the problem you were screwed. He worked on chicken farms, as a foster parent, Globe and Mail distributor, bingo caller, mechanic, tow truck driver, race car driver, his last job was working as a Self-employed contractor. He was the one you could count on to be there to help with whatever was asked of him. He loved to talk and had many friends and connections, if you needed anything and he could not provide, he knew who could.
Bob met Annette at the Society of Self Help, where they both worked; although it was always joked that he was one of the clients. Family encouraged Annette to go out with Bob and his pickup line “do you wanna fool around and fall in love” worked. They celebrated 30 years of marriage last year.
Bob always wanted the most for his family and worked very hard to do so. He was proud of his daughters, and spoiled them any chance he could get. He had so much love that he always would “adopt” family and treat them just like his own.
Bob was the self proclaimed “world’s biggest pest,” as many of his family and friends well know. Although he retired his notorious wet willies many years ago, he continued his pestering ways. Even with this title he will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg.
