Obituary of TRACY LYNN MACCHIA
Tracy Lynn Macchia (nee Thurlbeck), passed away peacefully on July 26th 2023 at the age of 62.
She was predeceased by her father Ralph Thurlbeck and her mother Joan Schaefer.
Tracy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Angelo Macchia, children Elorie, Dylan (Kate-Lynn) and grandchildren Brooklynn and Logan.
She also leaves behind her mother in-law Carmela Macchia, brother in-law Gennaro (Josie) Macchia, and brothers Gregg (Jane) Thurlbeck, and Jeff (Caroline) Thurlbeck as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Tracy was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the Garden City area where she attended and graduated from Garden City Collegiate.
Her true passion was her family. In 1983, she started her life by marrying Angelo, where shortly after they grew their family and raised 2 children. Tracy was a very involved Mom where she made it look effortless. Staying at home raising her children was truly her calling.
Travelling with her family brought her much joy, whether it be experiencing different areas of the world, summer road trips, or many of her short trips to her favorite place, Vegas. Tracy was such a funny, social woman who surrounded herself with great lifelong friends.
Tracy was best dressed wherever she went. Even when she was unwell, it was important to her to look her best. Tracy’s outward beauty was matched by her inner beauty. She had the biggest heart and had such a kind soul. It was incredibly rare to hear her complain about her declining health, and her optimism was infectious. In the more recent years, she gained most of her joy from the simple things, like having Sunday dinners with family, and visits with her grandchildren. They brought new light into her life.
Although she was taken too early, we have found comfort in knowing that she is now at peace. She will be forever missed but never forgotten.
As per Tracy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a service will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, if so desired, a donation may be made to the MS Society of Manitoba.
