Obituary of MANUEL COELHO AZERA MONTEIRO
MANUEL COELHO AZERA MONTEIRO
Passed away peacefully on August 20, 2023 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 76 years old. He was predeceased by Wife, Berta Maria Da Costa Monteiro and Son, Rui Manuel Monteiro.
Manuel is lovingly remembered by his Sister In Law, Ana (Jose) Medeiros, Nephew: Donny Medeiros, Nieces: Pamela (Marcio) Chaves, Monica (Matthew) Wolff and Melissa Medeiros.
Manuel’s passion in life was his family, fishing and FC Porto. During the summer he was up before the sun every Saturday to be the first on the lake to catch his big fish. He took pride in returning home with his catch of the day. While the rest of us were rubbing our eyes and getting out of bed, Manny had already been on the lake and back and was sitting on the deck gutting his catch from the morning. He was always singing to his music and dancing while he deboned. We will always remember the smell of a fresh summer morning laced with the aroma of fish guts, fresh pancakes and maple syrup.
Manuel was passionate about soccer, and his blood ran blue for his team, FC Porto. Don’t you dare visit wearing red or green, he won’t unlock the door! Soccer was a staple in his life, if it wasn’t on the TV is was playing on the radio.
Sadly, at this time we will say goodbye, but we keep your memories in our hearts. We send our thanks to all the Hospital and Staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion.
The Funeral will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Thursday, September 7th at 2:00 p.m. with burial following at the Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave.
