JOSE GALANG MACARAIG
Jose Galang Macaraig, a beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather passed away peacefully with his family on Tuesday, September 9th, 2023, at the Health Sciences Centre.
He was predeceased by his parents Maximino and Isabel Macaraig, wife, Evangelina, sister, Maria Conception and brothers, Victorino and Rogelio and survived by his siblings, Lily & Johnny, Lydia, Lourdes, Marcel & Rebecca, Sopronio & Paciencia, Ruben & Yolanda, Ligaya & Bienvenido, Leticia & Reynante, and the rest of the Macaraig and Gabriel family.
Jose is lovingly remembered by his children Richard, wife Katand grandchild Nyla, and daughter Jean.
Jose was born and raised in Batangas, Philippines, migrated to Winnipeg in 1976. He then married the love of his life in 1977 and dedicated his life of 68 wonderful years to his family. He loved collecting basketball cards, antiques and anything that caught his eyes.
He bravely faced cancer through his unwavering strength alongside with the help of his healthcare team, nurse Anne, oncologist Dr Kotb, hematology team and the WN5 staff at Health Sciences Centre. With immense gratitude, the efforts of those who dedicated precious hours of their time, to ensure he is well taken care of, Jillven, Sharlene, Cenen, Levilyne and Ryan, words cannot express how grateful we are for all that you have done for him.
Lamay/Viewing will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 commencing at 6:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg with a Prayer at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of resurrection service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church, 846 Burrows Avenue, Winnipeg. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Cemetery, 4477 Main Street, Winnipeg
