Obituary of CHESTER PAUL ROULEAU

Chester Paul Rouleau passed away peacefully on July 25, 2023 at Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, at the age of 92. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Paul and Theresa. Chester is lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years Lorraine, children Jennifer (John) of Winnipeg, Gordon (Anne-Marie) of Montreal, Michele of Winnipeg, Andrea (John) of Winnipeg, grandchildren Jessica, Meagan, Alexis, Genevieve, Guillaume, Justin and Amanda, and great-grandchild Alice.

Chester was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec and raised in Montreal, Quebec. He met and married his beloved wife Lorraine in 1955. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honours and distinction from McGill University, Montreal, and a Masters of Education from University of Manitoba, Winnipeg. He taught at several schools in Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba, finishing his career as Principal and Superintendent of Sprague Public School in Sprague, Manitoba.

Chester was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and loved all his children and grandchildren dearly. Over the years he was an active volunteer with several organizations, most notably St. Vincent de Paul, Development & Peace, and St. Timothy's Church Council and Refugee Committee. He was an avid reader his entire life, and enjoyed several hobbies including stamp collecting, the history of the Canadian railway, and was an avid model railway enthusiast.  He had a great sense of humour, and would share this with anyone who would listen.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 1:30 pm at St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church, 135 John Forsyth Rd., with the Reverend Father Brian Trueman as Celebrant. Chester's ashes will be interred at St. Boniface Cathedral Cemetery Columbarium, Winnipeg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chester's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
