Obituary of RAYMOND STEWART DIEHL
RAYMOND STEWART DIEHL
Suddenly On March 12, 2013, Raymond Stewart Diehl of Winnipeg Beach passed away at the age of 61.
Left to mourn his passing is his son Matthew ( Lucille) a sister Linda Thompson (Bruce) and many nieces and nephews , extended relatives and many, many friends. He was predeceased by his father Stewart and mother Dorothy (Green) Diehl, wife Marlene (Peterson) and sister Diane Diehl.
Ray grew up in Cypress River, Manitoba and was educated in Cypress River Elementary, Neelin High School in Brandon and Red River College in Winnipeg where he obtained his heavy diesel mechanics papers. He was employed by Renn Enterprizes in Wpg until he was forced to retire due to his disability and ill health.
He loved his occupation and loved working on anything with motors and wheels. His greatest love though was his family and he considered all his friends as family also. Everyone was his "buddy" .His happy go lucky way, his laugh, helpfulness and consideration for others won the hearts of many. He always had a joke or a story to tell whether it was good or bad. He was an avid fisherman, loved boating, animals, travelling and camping and he loved talking to everyone wherever he went.
A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at 1pm on Thursday March 21, 2013 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg with Shirley McBurney officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held in the chapel reception area. Everyone is welcome. Interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes, or a charity of ones choice. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
